Yes, The Who were signed to Decca and issued in UK via their deal with Shel. To break their contract in 1966, they gave up 5% of their royalties through 1971 to Shel.

So when I first heard Band of Angels on Shindig in 65 doing "Not True as Yet," I immediately thought this was same producer of Kinks and UK sounding. John Barry produced it. Did John Barry do much of the same things as Shel?
