When I'm ambitious i hand grate-you can use a food processor, bit grating holes, but then you get strings that feel more like hash browns. Still taste fine, though.

Saw him with the Arkestra a few years ago, pretty amazing, still able to do it. I've seen a number of musicians when they were old, some great, some not so great. benny Carter comes to mind as still being quite amazing in his 90s...

I haven't 'book reported' in a long time. So. My top book of the last couple years was Ursula K. Le Guin's "Always Coming Home". Be sure to read the Library Of America version which includes a lot of extra yet essential material. No other book quite like it, and so much to think about as you read. Near the top was Graeber & Wengrow's "The Dawn Of Everything". Worthy of the hype. Both books are valuable resources for thinking about more humane social alternatives. At this late point in time.

Not quite the same territory, but parallel, maybe -- Christopher Hill's "The World Turned Upside Down" really put a ding in my skull. A "bottom up" history of the English revolutions of the 1600s, focused on the radical left portion of the participants. The people who Parliament and the generals were happy to utilize until they were no longer needed and thus discarded. The thing is, there was that remarkable period from 1640 to 1660 when Parliament freed up speech and the press, so there's massive material for historians to draw from. So if you want to get into the head of a Digger or a Ranter or a 17th Century proto-communist -- that's all here. Just be warned that it's mercilessly academic (Hill was an Oxford don after all), and not a narrative. More about what people were thinking than great man storytelling. No great men allowed!
