Years ago, I met him a few days before he left for another trip. He needed cash so offered me wholesale price (5€ each) on his records. I took 20.
More recently, he told me he was probably giving up on making new recordings, as these performers are dying off and the new generation is not interested

It is great that he captured / documented what he did. I do have a grump that his releases are not always clear whether and how he manipulated the recordings. The results are often interesting and creative but I, as an uninformed listener of interest, would like to be informed.

An interview with him that I read, he did not seem to have any intent to deceive but I've felt deceived by some of the "packaging".

The recordings I'm talking about are the CDRs he started with, not the later Sublime Frequencies records (basically comps) or his releases as Kink Gong (remixes). The earlier releases are almost all raw field recordings, and often have more info about who and when than the SF comps

I must bring this up every time you play Attila Zoller: apparently he moved from one place in Vermont to another in 1986 when my parents were moving to that area and they almost bought his old house from him. They did visit it to check it out. I don't know if he was there or some realtor showed them around.
