Historical Geology, baby. Teacher went up in front of the class and stood on a chair.
He took a nail file in one hand and held his arms up in the shape of a T. Teacher said “this (the edge of his finger nail) is the start of Earth’s history and (other hands finger tip) this is present day. He took the nail file and ran it once over the finger representing our current day on Earth. that one pass of the nail file represented all of human history on Earth.

Time Has Come , ... I'm reminded of a Glen Burnie High School assembly. They had the band that was to play at the prom do one hour, covering that song and others. Apparently the preceding senior class owed thousands of $ , so the Administration took it out the current class'es budget. The current class was stuck w the local cover band, while the preceding class had had The Temptations. I'm surprised nobody's dad was a lawyer, as that was obviously illegal. Every time some dumb ass cheerleader would ask me about my dues, I'd refer them to Frank Zappa for the proper attitude toward High School, so I didn't care except theoretically.

Different formats (LP, 45, tapes) might be from notably different Masters. The 13th Floor Elevators enthusiasts found 8-Tracks without the annoying reverb ferinstance...

...what I wonder is if 8-Tracks being wider - if they ever had actually better fidelity. Of course - there would be many factors...

I'm not even sure what that term means. I generally avoid listening to folks who use it.

Howdy Roberto: It means unfettered corporate control. (Not to be confused with the "liberalism" of an FDR/New Deal.)

Been pointed out to me that the term 'NeoLiberal' was first about something the Republicans were doing ? I gather it means essentially - we come on like we have Liberal Values ...but we're actually Conservative in Economics. Which is not actually Liberal @ all. Now - especially since Bill Clinton - I think it's generally applied to Democrats who appeal too much to an imaginary Moderate Center that doesn't exist this way. A Democrat's version of 'Rhino' (Republican In Name Only) - in a way...

In those terms, it makes sense. However, I find it's often co-opted these days by alleged liberals who really just want to burn everything down.

I'll grant you, mainstream Dems haven't done nearly enough to combat it in the last 30 years or so. But they're still usually a 1000x better option.

I first heard it used from the latter day Zapatistas (writing in Spanish) in Mexico, in the 1990s. It's possibly confusing to some USAers. There was earlier, old Adam Smith laissez faire liberalism and the later liberalism of FDR/LBJ, etc.

...it's also true that Fascism means literally to Fasten. Much easier to get the Right goose-stepping in formation. But to be Liberal means literally to tolerate more & wider viewpoints. The challenges & the strategies for the Left & the Right are not really the same @ all in this sense.
