Hmmmm...the last thing I did last night was drop off to sleep with Richard Thompson's memoir in my hands, so I guess this is the drone that's following me. Heh. Good morning, Cricket!

i love this haha. i own a copy of his book, too, though i haven't finished it just yet! are you enjoying it? or is it putting you to sleep in a bad way?

↳ Song: "The Bonny Bunch of Roses" by "Fairport Convention"
this one is quite lengthy and repetitive, but in a way i find very soothing. great early morning song, imo

Oh no, it 's very good. In fact it's one of the most well-written books by or about a musician that I"ve read. I succumb to them now and then, and they're mostly dreadful, but 'Beeswing' is honest, respectful of the reader, and literary. Also...well..I've been listening to him for over 50 years so there's personal familiarity with the time before time depicted in it.

Oh, "begging". I was hearing it as, "To the wagon I will go."

I remember being very resentful of going through Doc Chad's Dreamory. I thought of throwing it at his face, but by the time I next met him it had grown on me, so I got it signed instead

Another đź‘Ť to Thompson's auto bio book. It is not a tell all but as far as his discretion allows he seems honest. Plenty new to me anecdotes and glimpses of the folk rock world Genesis.

The driest thing in recent memory for me is 'Remain in Love', Chris Frantz' take on his place in Talking Heads. For me, at least, it was like reading a bus transfer. [And I apologize, Chris, on the off chance you're out there reading this. I still love you, man. :) ]

No Roud 66 on David Dichelle's show, unfortunately

Swarb deserves a well-written biography himself. Very pivotal figure.

Curious what Roud 66 might actually be. Bet it's travelled on Route 66.

So happy that you mentioned you love your mother very much. As someone who was at odds with my mother during our entire time together, it makes me realize there are others who could put aside some of the disagreements. Sadly that didn't happen with me and my family. But it was a different time.
