The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

Back in 2009 or so, WFMU did a big weekend of benefit shows at The Bell House in Brooklyn. I volunteered for it. Lydia Lunch played at one of them and at the last minute needed someone to work her merch table. I raised my hand, duh. She sat next to me for about 20 minutes and I was so star-struck I could barely speak.

It's surprisingly tame by today's standards. Very little actual gore. The terror is just in the way it's directed, edited.

I wouldn't mind a Rinse Dream doc though, rewatching Dr Caligari on Shudder sent me down a rabbit hole of articles and interview about his shop being across The Masque, doing stuff for Wall Of Voodoo and mainstream movie posters.

I watched that again recently. It's got some moments, but I think Hooper was tryng to make a horror satire/commentary like a George Romero movie. It's not too good.

So apparently Trey Parker & Matt Stone weren't the first to "come up" with the idea of puppet porn.

I know someone who swears Parker and Stone stole the idea of SP from him. He'd been sending this film around that he'd made that was a Peanuts parody, like the Peanuts kids were fowlmouthed. I've seen bits of it and - while I'm not super familiar with SP - it's kind of glaring. He supposedly sent it to some studio that they were affiliated, so the story goes
