The best Disney memory I have was a school trip when I was a senior in high school, went to Disneyland. A buddy and me had our acoustic guitars, it was curfew and we were still raging, so we decided to take the guitars, a pack of smokes, and maybe some other stuff, and find a place to play some music. We found a fountain area, sat on the edge, and started to play. A newlywed couple walked by and started listening and hanging out. We were playing almost every Neil Young tune we knew, and soon other couples and whatnot started hanging out and listening. We were there a long time...curfew be damned. One of the most fun musical moments I ever had. I don't remember much else from Disneyland on that visit.

I used to watch SNL in that era specifically to see and hear GE Smith play, and to see which vintage guitar he was using. That band was hot. I met GE about 5 years ago and told him that, and it seems I was one of many guitarists who would watch for the same reasons.

Hartman and Lovitz riffing together was one of the highlights of that era. I could just watch them improv and it would have been better than most of those skits at that time. Oh and then there was Neil Young totally ripping the studio apart with Steve Jordan drumming from that era, a true highlight.

Kraftwerk was the first thing that popped into my mind. It is very "riff" based.

I'd say Talking Heads and Steely Dan have very little if any Chuck Berry in their music. I could be wrong and probably am!

True, but Chuck didn't make the riff a thing. Other people had done that.

The question could be how much T-Bone Walker and Louis Jordan and Louis Prima is in Chuck Berry? A Lot! It just wasn't called rock and roll

Did it include the Paramount short where Dracula attacks Betty Boop? I discovered that on Austin Rich's show.
