A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

There was a recent film that suggested the moon landing was real, but also they had a fake moon landing staged just in case. Robert Smith of the Cure did a recent interview about how the 60s were a reflection of an upward trajectory that has not come back. According to him, the moon landing was a major part of that, I guess with public morale and raised spirits, although I am not necessarily in favor of going back to the sixties, as a woman or a minority, etc, much less a white guy who is helplessly weird. Economically though, I do have a displaced nostalgia for a time when one could travel the world on a Janitor's pay rate.

  10:27pm
Arvo Zylo:

↳ Mr. X @10:22
Well I could deal with that. I mean I don't want people to smoke on busses, trains, or airplanes, but I could deal with that. Women were often horrifically abused, and when they protested, they were sometimes put in a sanitarium where they may have been given electroshock treatment or even a lobotomy, for example. I could go on about this, but yeah I really have a deep passion for the ideal of living in a house and raising kids and having a car on a regular "entry level" wage. That just means a lot to me, and it is virtually unattainable in the USA at this time, where even people with college degrees are having trouble finding decent work, paying off debts, etc.
  10:28pm

This will be a bit woo woo for many, but I prayed to Saint Michael to neutralize the situation, and the ghost, Marvin, appeared and said hi to me, and left me alone shortly after.

Mr. X:

"After raising a U.S. flag on the Moon, Conrad and Bean devoted much of the remainder of the first EVA to deploying the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP). There were minor difficulties with the deployment. Bean had trouble extracting the RTG's plutonium fuel element from its protective cask, and the astronauts had to resort to the use of a hammer to hit the cask and dislodge the fuel element."

Bashing a container of plutonium with a hammer sounds like good fun to me. What could go wrong?

I think there are a lot of variables beyond our understanding. I don't think ghosts necessarily haunt for easily understood reasons. I am of the opinion that some of them are cognizant, and others are residual, based on prior events. In my case, Marvin was both. He was a child that died in the place I was staying. Sometimes ghosts just repeat instances, while others interact. I guess I will stop there before I derail too much.

There were two movies this year that dealt with mutiny on a space shuttle. One was called I.S.S. and dealt with Americans and Russians on the same ship plotting to kill each other.
