↳ Song: "Aquamarine" by "Robert Slap"
This sounds like a song from one of those CD sample kiosks from the 90's

Today's show was going to be a collection of synth gems from the Canadian production music company Parry Music Library, but so much had been going on that I was only able to get half the playlist done...That show will be next week.

Dealing with death in the family, death of a friend and my ongoing health problems has been making it hard to be as thorough as I'd like for episodes on certain weeks.. My favourite shows to do are ones where it's a collection of tracks that may not be related at all, since I am always listening to eclectic mixes when out and about. My second favourite shows to do are themed ones, such as next week's episode. My least favourite? Shows where I play tapes in long-form like I am today, but I have plenty of good long tapes I can broadcast, I just feel like it's a bit of a cop out. But I have to play by ear with my dumb illness. At least everyone else seems to enjoy these ambient tape episodes!

My order of preferences shadow your order of preferences but also the variety approaches good.

Also, streaming is good now and I didn't notice any interruptions (though I was away from my computer for a few minutes).

I'm sorry to hear about everything you're going through. If it makes you feel any better, you're coming in loud and clear right now and the show with the 2-hour long K-Mart tape was really good.

I know it seems like lazy programming, but I actually am finding this pretty nice right now, I appreciate it. Been having a hectic time lately: Just came back from picking up daughter from school because she had broken out in hives!? I mean, wtf. So proceed with the getting kinda mellow and trippy and so forth.

I guess it's a good thing I have so many great, longer recordings on hand. The muzak and the ambient tapes are my favourites to play in long form like this.

There is a word bubble icon next to messages you can click on to do that with!

To do the reply thing (as described by Mr Fab) you have to be in a browser, don't think any of the apps integrate that function.

I am so excited for next week's show. fans of library music and 80s synth stuff will be in paradise! I have over a Dozen LPs from Parry Music I am going through. Prior to a week ago, I had never dug into this music library, and I greatly regret not subjecting myself to its lovely stuff sooner.
Avatar 2:18pm
Miss Mei:

The format will be this:
8 tracks per LP, as none of them are very long. Each segment starts and ends with a track that is less than a minute, with longer ones in the middle. They should flow together pretty well!

Off calls and back to the desk with work. Hi Mei and all.

Canada represent. Don't know much of the 80s Parry. Late 70s had some real players like Hawksworth jumping in.

I downloaded a few late 70s PML lyrics but I am specifically playing stuff recorded post-1980 for that special synthy sound I am looking for, and boy did I find loads! Great stuff for sampling too.

Library music was my first foray into archiving music a little over a decade ago when I was around 14-15.

I see the 80s stuff in the bins from time to time. First got into the label before moving to Canada as Luke Vibert comped some back on his Nugget releases in the early 00s

The Parry show is far from finished- I have an hour and 21 minutes worth of music on the playlist spanning a 5 volume series of LPs, the "Video-Tech" anthology. I will be going through more through out the week. If a track really moves me it'll go in the playlist.

↳ Song: "Emerald Green" by "Robert Slap"
That shifted from relaxing background to dynamic foreground listening. In part because of this Robert Slap recording but mostly because up until a few minutes ago a big road maintenance crew was working on resurfacing the street just outside my home office window.

Grinder/vacuum dump truck. Asphalt laying machine with the operator playing his own music loud enough to be heard over the machinery. Huge roller tractors pressing the asphalt. Power tar painter filling the edges between the new asphalt and the curbs and well. Y'all get the idea. Anyway, they are finished and gone for the day and I realize how loud I had Sheena stream cranked in order to hear it over their noise...
