The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

I thought this was the very end of Upsala College. Wiki cites "May 31 1995" as the very last day:
"The last class of approximately 200 graduated on May 14, 1995. The number of students was 435 at the time of the college's closure. The college closed with approximately US$12,500,000 in debt and filed for bankruptcy the next month."

But not to worry!
"Upsala's campus radio station, WFMU, remains in operation; a nonprofit company known as Auricle Communications, formed by station staff in 1992, purchased WFMU's license in 1994, one year before the college closed. WFMU continued to occupy space on the campus until 1998, when it purchased and moved to another building in Jersey City." 💖💞

Quite a quick collapse - not as frantic at the suburban Springfield closing, but already almost everything was gone when I came. Still found a couple interesting books for cheap, but yeah, no chance of finding a 'specific' book if you wanted it.

Maybe as the "psychedelic Freeform" that really put us on the map in the late 60s onward, but Lou D'Antonio was on from 1962, a real pioneer in Freeform programming and conceptual comedy, setting the tone for Irwin, Jim Price, 7SD and many other trendsetting DJs here.

I was fascinated to learn about the early days of Internet, when most users got access from their university and they got more proficient at it as the year went on.

Thus "Eternal September" when AOL came out in '93 - a permanent stream of new users entering, no more "equilibrium", no going back:

"What is the pernt?" this guy rules. Pissed of listeners are hilarious. Concise list. 1995 was a different world. Hardly anybody had a cell phone. This show is actually funny. Its like they ran out of ideas later at some point. Cars on highways wtih phones. I was in the Air Force when OKC haappened with McVeigh. I walked into a room and our sargeant told us.

"MAC machine" instead of "ATM", or "teller machine" older still. Pennsylvanians used to call them that as well.

I wonder if they would still work - probably so but probably unencrypted. You used to be able to listen in to any car phone (or even cordless phones?) on a scanner.

The old TVs with channel dials already numbered, when they withdrew UHF channels 70-83 for the new car phones, you could tune the dial to the upper numbers and listen in to conversations!
