If you have never seen it check out John Hurt, in "I, Claudius", as Caligula. Don't watch it for the production values, because it's filmed like a play, on video tape. Cleaned up, on DVD, some of the old age makeup looks dodgy, but the script and perfromances are amazing.

You simply had to be there to get what I meant by that. One guy apparently loved 22-Pistepirkko but while announcing that he also made clear he loved his own voice. To the extent he was thrown out of the (free admission) festival area. Only to return as a repeat offender… Just the same drunken mantra as infinitum (no pauses, he must have had an exceptionally well developed breathing technique).

And there’s different kinds of hell regarding other people. Some decide to amuse themselves if not others by being obnoxiously loud…

While I am rather sad 22-Pistepirkko ceased to exist, they went out with a bang; on their last visit to Norway they performed with their alter ego The Others, doing some Velvet Underground tunes - sung by Wreckless Eric and Robyn Hitchcock! I wonder if there is a YouTube clip of that…

I think you (and your colleagues) have helped many of us so much! For instance, when COVID started, I didn’t even leave my home for months, there was so little knowledge and no masks etc. I retained my sanity thanks to this show among others…

I can be very old soul in ways as well, but I always like to learn and be aware of new things. And keep my spirits up! I'd say I try to be "universal", versus young or old. WFMU helps keep me clued in to the wonderful new stuff that's always coming out too! 😊
