	9:22pm Dean: Librarian here, but not to the rescue. It is entirely possible that the book you returned didn't manage to pass the scanner on its way back. Check the shelves right away before somebody else nabs (steals) it. But if they check it out, your mark will be erased. So, either it's there in the library--on the shelf, misshelved, in transit to the shelves--or in fact you did not return it and it's sitting in a laundromat or auto repair shop, wherever you might last have taken it. Public libraries do not assume you "stole" the book. We understand. We only want to protect our collection.

	9:28pm Parq: ↳ dave miss @8:49 Hi, Suzy and dave and all. Mrs. Parq and I went on the last of the Ramones ferries on Friday. You didn't miss much. There were no films or videos, as had been promised, and the music was turned off after all the non-Ramones-fans on board complained repeatedly. They did give out some nice little stickers, and they did raffle off a Ramones collection. Also, they gave out free cans of this new soda with lemongrass. The Boylans people have nothing to worry about.
	9:29pm Dean: I can't cite actual cases, but I don't think those overnight returns cause much trouble. Clearly, if somebody had broken into it and taken off with a bunch of books--not just yours--then the library would be prepared to forgive your loan. And yet it is possible that the book got wedged in somewhere, preventing it from dropping into the bin. I'd inquire about that. It's also possible, as always, that it was misshelved. That's a harder one to beat, because it's hard to predict likely mistakes. But where I work, now and then I can successfully translate to the correct call number to likely mistaken ones.

	9:31pm Daniel from PEI.: JK, library’s are fabulous, and it’s nice to hear such an enlightened professional outlook. I once avoided the library for a few years because I had lost a book I took out in high school. Five or so years later I found it, returned it in a drop box, waited another while, got a card and got back in on that library goodness.
	9:34pm Sam: The vet might charge you a $20 pet cleaning fee. Worth the money.
	9:35pm Ken From Hyde Park: Modern libraries often have free access to digital streaming services where you can find documentaries and other neat video material.
	9:36pm DJ Terre T: Heya Suzy : my take your wondering on CLEAN PET ETTIQUETTE for the VET - it depends on the “smell”… there’s certain smells that indicate allergies/disease… like if yr dog smells like cheese doodles (not even joking) that’s a thing yr Vet should know &make this observation !

Check the shelves right away before somebody else nabs (steals) it. But if they check it out, your mark will be erased. So, either it's there in the library--on the shelf, misshelved, in transit to the shelves--or in fact you did not return it and it's sitting in a laundromat or auto repair shop, wherever you might last have taken it. Public libraries do not assume you "stole" the book. We understand. We only want to protect our collection.

There were no films or videos, as had been promised, and the music was turned off after all the non-Ramones-fans on board complained repeatedly. They did give out some nice little stickers, and they did raffle off a Ramones collection. Also, they gave out free cans of this new soda with lemongrass. The Boylans people have nothing to worry about.
	9:29pm Dean: I can't cite actual cases, but I don't think those overnight returns cause much trouble. Clearly, if somebody had broken into it and taken off with a bunch of books--not just yours--then the library would be prepared to forgive your loan. And yet it is possible that the book got wedged in somewhere, preventing it from dropping into the bin. I'd inquire about that. It's also possible, as always, that it was misshelved. That's a harder one to beat, because it's hard to predict likely mistakes. But where I work, now and then I can successfully translate to the correct call number to likely mistaken ones.
