The notorious profane Troggs Tapes were parodied in the March 15, 1980 Saturday Night Live broadcast. There was a skit about medieval troubadours bickering in rehearsal, frequently using “flogging” as an obscene present participle.
Paul Shaffer flubbed a line however, becoming the first person to say “fucking” on live TV.

saw Troggs a few times in '83, they were doing a residency at the venue I was working at.
Their old groupies from the 60's used to show up and they'd all party on after.
