Hola! Arvo Zylo is filling in for Roy.

Hey Arvo! What song is playing now? I actually can't listen now

Emmet Kelly seems ripe for this set:

But so far, we have a trifecta here.

This is a sort of inside joke between myself and Mr. Fab, the whole hour is not all weepy stuff, but I do enjoy it, mostly on a sonic level, lower octaves and whatnot.

Music from other countries like in Africa and Latin America is so happy dancey.

Rich white countries are sad...
  3:16pm
Dean:

I've been on a mission--well, not quite--to get the late Hosford more airplay.
Avatar 3:17pm
Mr Fab:

is there Nigerian emo? Gotta find some!
Avatar 3:20pm

Ok, out of my work meeting, tho still gotta werk like a jerk. At least I can listen now.

I don't really listen to emo, not even before it became a goth subgenre.

I rarely listen to music for any sort of emotional reasons, I just like dark, sad, often old music for sonic reasons. It is a haunting and romantic thing, certain kinds of reverb and whatnot.

I don't like to compare rich vs. poor, in this case it would be about who embraces introverts more. Is there Japanese emo? Does it matter?

Also, Kevin Ayers is after this one, this is Alex Harvey right now
  3:26pm
Dean:

For all matters emo, consult Julie of Dark Night of the Soul.
Avatar 3:26pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, i def listen to music for moods. Dark doesn't mean negative.
  3:28pm
Dean:

But, yeah, I guess there is Nigerian emo.

I listen to a whole lot of soul music, including Latin soul, I just think that fast music isn't necessarily happy, and with 60s music, the lyrics can be sad or happy, just means to shake it off, sway, whatever.

I like Dark Night of the Soul, definitely have more than one goth strain in my blood. The Cure is pleasant to me, it's like triumphant to me.
Avatar 3:30pm
Arvo Zylo:

I used to do a soul/funk radio show, that's how I started weekly radio, and also played plenty African stuff like Fela Kuti because I can, but I'm more into Wendy Rene, Helene Smith, Nina Simone, etc.
Avatar 3:31pm
Arvo Zylo:

This set is not entirely by white people, for the record!
