Pierre Delecto:

A few days ago the NY Times had an article about how to cook a hotdog on a BBQ grill. Private school, orthodonture, gap year, college, grad school, then a career in law, medicine, publishing, independent film production, NGO administration — and nobody can put a hotdog on a grill without help from the NYT. The writer explained it’s important to place the wieners parallel to the grill instead of perpendicular.

That seems like the perfect way for hot dogs to roll off the grill. Steaks need grill marks, hot dogs need heating and eating.

Glad it's Irwin time, I'm ready for the music and the Gustiness. Hello fellow Guskateers.

Yeah hotdogs can be cooked any ol’ way…that wiener flavour…
I recently bought a cast iron grill/griddle, works great. Many discussions about what to cook on which side. My thoughts are the grilll is best for ‘real’ meat. A solid piece of flesh like chicken breast, steak, etc. But the griddle is the way to go for burgers.

Its Monsoon Season in New Mexico, thunderstorms most days. My wife saw a mountain lion on the corner of Indian School and Chelwood park. It was hiding in a bush 10 feet away from her. Fish and Game tell me they can trap and relocate them away from populated areas. They eat cats and dogs when they can find them. Human attacks happen, but are fairly rare-but NOT unheard of.

There was a store in Syracuse, NY accross the alley from Zorbas in 1985-198? called Modern Records. It was downstairs and kinda dirty. It was a dungeon of record pleasure. I remember they always prominently displayed Television, Trout Mask Replica and Butthole Surfer albums. I bought a Pink Floyd and King Crimson "Import" there. They had a LOT of "Imports". I lost my Chimera (Grass Records) CD [kinda like Cocteu Twins but intelligible lyrics). Gotta get it again. They were listening to CAN of all things at the pool on their playlist so I gotta give them a piece of paper with WFMU.org written on it and tell them, "If you listen to Can, you are looking for THIS. Irwin. Garbage Time. Pseus Thing With a Hook. Feelings with Michele. Etc. Maybe Kens show. "

Exene infamously went RWNJ. But X music has always been unqualifiedly great. Which is not true about every band on such a scene over such a time.
As this Program right here has given exposition to - Brian Wilson learned Arranging many part Harmony from the Four Freshman - where *everybody* else learned two part Harmony from the Everlys. I like to say BrianWilson was the Harmonic Genius to McCartney's Melodic Genius. But Brian was like John&Paul + George Martin their Producer all by his lonesome in a way. TheBeatles blended Irish immigrant Folk roots & working class Blues & Boomer RawkaRolla & enthusiasm in a unique & new electric alchemy - obvsly. & that's all in their Voices - & the way they combined...

so i borrowed it, listened to it, and determined someone's got their collective heads up their collective ass.

I will be a pedant now. This song was written by Richard Fariña as a complaint about Bob Dylan. Sour grapes, if you ask me.

But yes, I love this version by Ian Matthews, more than the original by Richard and Mimi.

From America's most trusted news source, Wikipedia:

That Dylan was targeting Fariña in "Positively 4th Street" is not provable, and other people have been suggested, or no one single person. Nor is it provable that "Morgan the Pirate" is about Dylan. Fariña's producer Maynard Solomon apparently thought so, as his liner notes for the album noted that "Morgan the Pirate" was Richard Fariña's last song and "waves farewell to Bob Dylan".
