Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from June 28, 2024 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

thanks for that, UM! From The Telegraph a few months ago:

"As Starsailor get ready to release their sixth album, Where The Wild Things Grow, the band continue to think about the torturous album they worked on with Spector – Silence Is Easy – which turned 20 last year. Those recording sessions at Abbey Road eventually forced Starsailor to fire Spector – risking a prized collaboration that had been tipped to propel them to global success – and would ultimately shadow their entire career."

There’s a King Crimson splinter group touring called Beat whose repertoire is the 80s era of KC. Adrian Belew, Tony Levin are joined by Steve Vai and Danny Carey

Does the Yes/Who/Guess Who/Them Abbot & Costello routine translate well into other languages?

The latest (to my knowledge) Kingsbury Manx album, from 2013, has some classic Crimson noise going on, quite out of character for KM.

While driving around south Alabama years ago I happened on a hand painted roadside sign, "For Sale: Walter melons and Boilt P-nuts."

Haven't heard Dschinn in a very long time. Epitaph-ish. I observe that there is a "Graham/Gouldman" track on the album, last song on side 2. Coincidentally, a Dschinn tune on side 1 is titled, "I'm In Love."
