Hi Julie & souls of that good, dark night!

I happen to have that Sunshine Blind album among several of the Goth albums among my private collection. Trying to hold off on selling them before I can rip at least most of them to mp3's, which will take some time, as I'm currently putting together a media center here by my "office" in the basement where I'm typing from now.

Somebody made a great mashup with Chicago's "25 Or 6 To 4", Green Day's "Brain Stew", and Led Zep's "Baby, I'm Gonna Leave You". Only a while after I heard this TOT track did it occur to me how well it would've fit over the LZ part of it.

Does anybody want to hear a heat story? On Saturday I went to an art exhibit in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that turned out to be in a converted old industrial building. A 5-floor walk-up. Without A/C. I didn't know that in advance, but I suspected it wouldn't be good. What was I thinking? Well, I sort of know one of the artists exhibiting and I wanted to see her and her work in person. Anyway, I survived to tell the tale.

I also thought of going to the WFMU CD sale in Monty Hall, but I have like NO ROOM for any more CDs in my apt. Also, I didn't want to schlep from Queens to Jersey City in that heat, So instead, I did schlep to Williamsburg to a non-airconditioned 5-floor walkup. Ha!

↳ Song: "Call For Papers" by "Alsace Lorraine"
Interesting story behind this band name. "Alsace–Lorraine (German: Elsaß–Lothringen), officially the Imperial Territory of Alsace–Lorraine (German: Reichsland Elsaß–Lothringen), was a former territory of the German Empire, located in modern day France. It was established in 1871 by the German Empire after it had occupied the region during the Franco-Prussian War. The region was officially ceded to the German Empire in the Treaty of Frankfurt. French resentment about the loss of the territory was one of the contributing factors to World War I. Alsace–Lorraine was formally ceded back to France in 1920 as part of the Treaty of Versailles following Germany's defeat in the war, but already annexed in practice at the war's end in 1918." That's from Wikipedia.

Same here! I was a teenager as the 80's came around, which was perfect synchronicity for me: MTV, college radio & teen-angst movies awaited. U2 would be among te groups that led the charge. There were local independent shops in nearby New Brunswick NJ at the time that sold UK imports by the score. Remember one in particular that had U2 pic discs displayed prominently inside the store.
