As Laurie Anderon said - Adrian Belew isn't so much a GittarPlayer as some kind of Animal Trainer. Especially in this moment when it's all SuperShredders on YouToobz or such ...he stands out amongst probly 100s of millions.

"The most successful pedal system from the various contenders was designed about 1948 by Paul Bigsby, a motorcycle shop foreman and racer who also invented the commercially successful Spanish guitar vibrato tailpiece. Bigsby put pedals on a rack between the two front legs of the steel guitar."

Hi tom tom. "Spanish" guitar? I use this term to mean classical guitar with nylon strings; never seen a vibrato on one. Maybe the text you quote refers to the guitar in general as "Spanish"?

‘Manifesto’ album may have been my first vinyl intro to Roxy - due to the era. Circa 1982 (prompted by the surprise massive hit of Avalon album) had to get my 17 year old ass in gear to collect all the Roxy albums - found most of em for under $5 as sealed cut-outs. ‘Siren’s bass & drum perfs & audio production blew my mind. was also an immediate adapter to ‘Stranded’ & ‘Country Life’. Took a few more listens for others. Heck,
I even fell deep (asleep😏) for ‘flesh & blood’.🫀🖤🥰

Grace was a creative package, created a la sexpistols, monkees, bow wow wow etc (i'd say madonna, but she created her own facades)
so having the best musicians and producers was crucial to marketing the product. (a lot of money was poured in, i imagine.)
...all this not to detract from Ms. Jones and her immense talent...and she adopted the invented image and lived it - Beautifully.
