This seems like as good a time as any to mention that in college, my friends and I would wash dishes once a week for a free dinner at a fraternity. One of my friends, a wee fellow, decided to bathe in the kitchen sink one night.

Our ride also got stuck in that underground boat thing. We thought it was part of the act until they stopped the music and turned off most of the lights. Then it was explained to us that if they kept the music going, it would eventually degenerate into an annoying growl. So they got us off the boat and escorted us out via the parts we weren't supposed to see either.

I mean, seriously, it's just a style of performance, so no matter how infrequently it might be experienced, how could it ever be said to be completely gone? Maybe people are just reluctant to CALL it vaudeville now.
