"Jesu" is a pretty melody that seems to have re-entered the public consciousness around the Baroque Pop period, go off on that into electric psych directions and suddenly a bunch of people are recording it. The Dutch rock-classical Apollo 100 in the '70s too.

Allen is best known for his work with Sun Ra, having recorded and performed mostly in this context since the late 1950s, and having led The Sun Ra Arkestra since 1995, after Sun Ra's death in 1993 and John Gilmore's death two years later. In the Roman alphabet, "I" came before "J", stylized to indicate the consonant-I (which, of course was pronounced /y/ and still is in most alphabets). But the Semitic/Egyptian/Phoenician "yodh" (') is the original "letter" of all of them.

We owe Lewis for prodding Tolkien to Publish. Well, I think there are ways to critique someone's work that don't presume to judge the creator's whole approach. I also think if you're gonna be that harshly critical, maybe you only need to say things like that once?
