This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

unclear if this was actually recorded live at the BBC, or if tape was provided and that was what was played. apparently that's the definite case with the version of Krautrock (a remixed version from the LP recording) but this was possibly recorded live. No one in the band seems to remember

still pretty damn hard to find a copy of So Far or IV on vinyl for under 70 bucks in my experience
Avatar 8:27pm
Flash Strap:

of all the Wümme stuff that's come out, this is the one that most sounds like it could/should have made it to record. not that it's the best of the lot, mind you
Avatar 8:28pm
Flash Strap:

but it is searing experimental rock and roll - possible less experimental than its kindred spirits that did make it to record, however
Avatar 8:29pm
Flash Strap:

↳ Song: "We Are the Hallo Men" by "Faust"
leave it to Faust to combine TS Eliot's The Wasteland and Sonny & Cher's Beat Goes On (that's the backwards tape)
Avatar 8:30pm
Flash Strap:

Compare Faust’s version:

We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men Leaning together
Close to the ones who cry
to the grumbled mood moon coming home moaning home you can count to dry pet
you can lick to a wet pant you can grade to the jet set

with Eliot:

We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw
Our dried voices, when We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry glass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass In our dry cellar

↳ Song: "Gegensprechanlage" by "Faust"
in 2021 Bureau B released the 1971-1974 box set, which included 3 LPs worth of new material: Punkt. - supposedly a reconstituted Faust V / Last Album
and Momentaufnahme I & II - previously unreleased recordings of somewhat mysterious provenance. Possibly Munich tapes? they don't seem to be from Wümme
