TDK: yes, you are totally right Minehead is about 1 hour west of Bristol, on the coast, right across from Wales.

The ATP festival was super nice. You would hang out on the coast during the day and would have a nice pint in a rural pub. Then in the evening you would go and see Nick Cave and the Dirty Three and Songs: Ohia and tons more... happy happy memories!

I've always wanted to hear Racer X - Big Black on morning radio. I've told this story before but I guilted Steve into taking a VHS of my movie Duck! The Carbine High Massacre at an outdoor show in Princeton NJ. He walked by and I harassed him to take it and he was like I'll never watch it I said but I made it for you Steve...he awkwardly slipped the VHS into his back pocket. Months later a guy came up to me and said hey you were in that movie I saw at Steve's studio in the green room. Mission accomplished.

I was absolutely miserable after my first wife left me and had tickets to see Low. I went by myself. Only show I ever went to by myself. Low asked the audience to do announcements I screamed something about my porno getting a DVD release. They shut down announcements and went back to playing music. It was a very funny NYC moment. That band can bring me to tears.

It's so crazy to have a radio station like WFMU and DJs like Brian like most people you encounter don't know who Steve Albini is, don't listen to any outsider music. It's so refreshing and fun to turn on WFMU and have a connection to that community again.
