Ooh, that would be a good one. so cool.
  4:02pm
Cheree July:

Is this the Nick Gilder or Bryan Adams version?
  4:03pm
Kittimu:

It sucks cause basically as soon as I realized I wanted to learn to play it, I immediately accidentally sliced one of my fingertips open, basically right on the surface where I'd hit the string, while I was cooking dinner, so I still gotta wait a couple more days for it to heal up. Is nothing easy
Avatar 4:05pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Kittimu @4:03
Ouch! My sister had something happen to her thumb. Now her print of that thumb has a scar line through it.

↳ Song: "Mr. Leather and Velvet" by "Chris Neal"
This is grand! It has elements of Northern Soul and Paul Jones era Manfred Mann.
  4:07pm
Kittimu:

Hmm. I wonder if that'll happen to me cause it does go through the fingerprint. It was a pretty clean cut though so hopefully it won't be too bad
Avatar 4:08pm

Robin Wills turned me onto that song I sent Don. Our Patch Of Blue.

Avatar 4:09pm

If you think of how shallow the grooves of our fingerprints are, it's probably similar to the depth of the groove of a healed scar. It will look cool.

Good one! Using a Slade reference for spelling within this genre. Don is so sharp with his humor. It feels off the cuff like he's riffing with us humans and live even though there is no cohost and it's prerecorded!
  4:13pm
Cheree July:

Never heard that dirty Dad Joke, Don😵
  4:15pm
Cheree July:

Yep, that William 45 last sold for almost $600 on Discogs & someone actually bought it!🤯
Avatar 4:17pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @4:15
They did! Oh well. the bar got raised and now it will cost us more if another one gets listed. Like real estate.
  4:21pm
Cheree July:

So far, I haven't seen another copy for sale since.
Avatar 4:24pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @4:21
That's not one I'm, looking for, for myself. But I'll look for you and let you know if I see a copy. I recently got a Mark Radice upgrade to a picture sleeve with ebay. None were for sale on discogs.
  4:27pm
Cheree July:

That's nice of you Debbie, but I dunno if I could ever bring myself to pay $600 & up for any 45. The most expensive record I bought was the American Standard industrial musical album "The Bathrooms Are Coming!" for almost $500 on Ebay🤯
Avatar 4:31pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @4:27
That's why I'm not looking for it for myself.
Before I had heard of the whole industrial musical thing, I had found a copy at st vincents at an as is store. most of the picture part of the cover was ripped and just bare cardboard. but the caveman with a toilet part was showing. I decided to buy it forjust whatever the standard price for records was. 2.99? I'm glad I did. I had no idea it was part of all that and so cool. The vinyl is kind of thrashed though. I hope to upgrade someday.

About five years ago I went to a screening of industrial musical videos in Brooklyn. My friend Sport Murphy and Steve Young who wrote the book put it on. I have that book.

That sounds cool! I heard the special on this radio show then ordered a dvd. Never been to an event around it though.

Debbie, that sounds like when I saw a copy of the Bob Seger System's Ramblin Gamblin Man at a Salvation Army in PA that was a Capitol Record Club copy with a ripped up cover.
