Chopping Mall was screen-tested under the title “Killbots” and did poorly, so they wisely changed it to Chopping Mall. It did OK in theaters but found much more success on VHS, obviously.

The first time I saw Nissenenmondai, friends were opening (a noise band). They were blocked by snow, so my friends had to play for 40 minutes while they usually topped at 20 at most. Nissenenmondai finally got in, did a 15 minute setup/sound check, then delivered a mind-blowing show. I've been a fan ever since (Fan is a great "single" by the way)

Everyone will have their own subjective feel about something, but I think this has parallels with Danielle Dax's contemporary version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" - neither sinister nor affirming - just a trancey reimagining (remodeling!) for the era.

@NGH: I have a Spanish language question: a guy I know records and performs as Oso el Roto, I thought roto meant broken, but a friend from Colombia told me it's more complicated (Oso is from Chilean descent, which seemed to be a factor). Any clue, because it seems touchy?
Avatar 5:51pm
northguineahills:

oso is bear, roto, depends on the slang and dialect (spanish is more varied dialectally than english). i always thought of roto as 'not working', and any euphenisms that can be associated w/ it. but i only know mexi spanish from Monterrey.
