I recall Lawrence Welk was on at my Grandparents house, but often just as background ambience. My parents did not like it.

Many of my friends went through a Welk obsession in the early 2000's, and would tune in regularly to drink and laugh.

My older siblings were pressured into taking Polish dancing lessons at the community center, costumes and all. My cousin Regina played the accordion. My dad played the harmonica, spoons, and zither. A family friend played guitar. Music was THEE most important thing in many ways to us. I prefer the Shmenge Brothers :P

pretty weird radio for 1988.

First-time wiggler here - lovin' the show... reminds of dear ol' Ma and Pa and the stuff they loved and used to subject us kiddies to.

In hindsight, it's so good; adorned with the just the right mix of sappiness and wholesomeness.

Vaughn Monroe's version of Cool Water is really the best I've ever heard. Puts Buster Scruggs to shame!
