Rush played in odd time frequently. Stellar musicians. And king drummer Peart also an amazing lyricist.

Probably the most prog songs in their catalog are things like La Villa Strangiato, Circumstances, Xanadu, Cygnus X-1, Natural Science.

Favorite records probably Hemispheres, 2112 and Caress of Steel. Saw them first time on the Hemispheres tour (with the Good Rats opening).

The accomplishment of having two prog songs from Permanent Waves becoming “hits” is still amazing.

Don’t listen to them much anymore. But man there were some great moments there.

Gonna have to re-listen to this on archive -- had to keep it turned down low with a lot of talk going on here. :-( Mary Ellen is on a long verbose argumentative zoom call about a lawsuit involving a famous client where all the lawyers on her side have various opinions about how to proceed and write the next brief. This is a sports case; most of the cases are copyright music cases... She gets hired a lot because Louisiana has Napoleonic code elements, not just British common law as in other states, and they need her for cases involving Louisiana.

Yes are really the best composers and arrangers. I've hesitated writing about favorite group here today, because Yes is a trite choice, and there are tons of good prog groups. But yes, Yes.
