My neighbor, a Village elder, asked me what I was listening to on our way up the elevator. I said a conversation about Moondog & she told a funny story about being at the planetarium and walking onto a stairwell and there he was in full gear. Then she mentioned a couple other "Village characters": Roller Rosie (someone I hadn't heard about who apparently roller skated around in a wedding dress?) and Adam Purple (of Garden of Eden fame). Anyway. She mentally places Moondog in that constellation.
