I’m nearly there with recovery, sense of taste has returned - vinegar no longer resembles bleach and coughs are at a minimum. Sorry I missed Blank Generation. I was lucky to have caught Richard Hell & the Voidoids live a few times. I also met Robert Quine on the street a few times and talked with him briefly. I even spotted RQ once at a restaurant with Lou Reed. I started to talk with him but LR glared at me like laser beams were going to come out of his eyes.

Love this tune. Moved to London for a long spell in late '79...and they were the first live band I caught on day 2. Wardour St Marquee. Some in the audience were brutal to poor Gaye...as she was apparently not "slim enough" anymore and they heckled her mercilessly. It left a bad taste.

My late friend Brian Crane was FDJ’s tour manager/driver/guitar tech/drum tech (he took over all those tasks for the Cramps after FDJ toured with them for 3months). He would safely get them (Dex and Crow)to the next show take them outta the suitcase, inflate them, and repack them afterward. He told me that he got a call from the jail one night early on to bail Dex out for public drunkenness. He got there right when they were booking him. Sheriff asked Dex for his SS # (since he didn’t have a drivers lisc) he responded “ain’t got one daddio”. Sheriff was pissed. Brian chimed in “seriously, he doesn’t have one”. I’m sure those two are hanging out somewhere on the next plane.
