Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

Gee, fun to be reminded how great this 4th solo Clinton album was ! - as usual, dang eclectic. I still cherish my vinyl copies of his albums. Such great album covers !
- then after R&B Skeletons, it was off into the world of CD’s !

Re Clinton: one of my fave trax from ‘R&B Skeletons’ is “Cool Joe” = slinky fun. As tremendously funky and innovative as “computer games” and “shouldn’t nuff bit fish” are - I find his 3rd solo “some of my best friends are jokes” one heck of a consistent & satisfying listen ! & as usual all of the spinoff 12” single mixes were awesome and worthy.
Note: imo, an overlooked gem from that same era is George’s lil brother one-off: Jimmy G & the Tackheads (1985) = some great electro-funk vocal workouts!
