this type of vocal-group sound is a lost art. Lots of retro styles come back, but not many groups can pull off this type of harmonizing too well nowadays.

Great! Will have to investigate. Rockabilly, garage, etc, are fairly easy to do, so there's a lot if it. I remember when the Bangles hit the LA scene, it was like: a group that can actually sing?!
Avatar 4:18pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ Aitch @4:15
Sounds fun! I saw Alvvays nearly 10 years ago in a small venue in Canada sometime after their debut album had come out! They were great and had great harmony then as well. I met the frontwoman Molly before the show and she was really nice.

"Kicks" was their most popular song, "Steppin Out" is great, got that one on one of the "Nuggets" volumes dedicated to "Punk." Also: "Hungry," and the orig version of "I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone."

Wow. Can't believe I found this station. I've been listening to Some-Assembly-Required (SAR) for ages. His page directed me here. My work blocks ALL steaming sites but some how overlooks SAR and Sheena. Yahoo! I have great music to listen to at work again! Instant fan here. Keeps the great toons coming!
Avatar 6:14pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Super Special K @6:10
The voodoo power of Sheena's busts thru any such mere mortal firewalls!

"Some-Assembly-Required" is only on once a month, but the shows he alternates with are great, too, so don't think you'll be disappointed. And there are other shows here that throw in sound-collage-y things. Come on in, make yourself comfy, grab a drink!
  6:29pm
Super Special K:

Count on it Mr.Fab. Trying to learn my way through the shows. Still some weird blocks. I'm listening to this through iTunes Music. I can't listen through the webpage. However SAR links to sheena and this links work. Damn computers. Some do they will do something worthwhile. Someday.

TuneIn works, too - you can even ask: "Alexa, play Sheena's Jungle Room, WFMU."
  6:41pm
Super Special K:

I'm at work where is blocked. My home station is University of Toronto CIUT 89.5fm which is an INCREDIBLE station. Where I first heard SAR. Been addicted to sound collage ever since. I've relistened to SAR many many times over the past 20 years since it doesn't get blocked at work. So glad Jon started up again after his 10 year hiatus.
  6:52pm
Super Special K:

This playlist has been great don't get me wrong. Love this mix of old and new. Popular and obscure.
I work 2pm - 9pm each night and get to listen to the radio uninterrupted. You already have new listener I assure you! No Alexa at work. Just melancholy.
