Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:17pm
Austin Rich:

There's a lot of old airchecks I've heard, from old Soaps in the 40's and 50's, where the ads would say stuff like, "And now, here's something just for the ladies." And at least a couple soaps in the 50's would pride themselves on being stories for housewives.

Dean:

And by "programming" I didn't exclusively mean KFMB's, but WFMU's meta-programming of KFMB. I was born in San Diego. I have some affection for the place.

I think, because he's better known for film and singing, and he really didn't do a lot of acting on the radio, it gets forgotten. But it's a good 20-odd episodes of him doing "wise-guy" dialog. Pretty fun!

I'm nostalgic for a DJ I only know as Brother Paul, who had a call-in show evenings in the LA area on a low wattage station. The calls were sometimes heartbreaking. The theme song was Loggins & Messina's lovely "Peace of Mind."

We had a DJ at KPSU when I was there in the early 2000's, DJ Petro, who would sing along with the songs with a live mic, and said he got it from Wolfman. But I'm not sure if Petro was as charming as Wolfman.

This regular WFMU listener (WLSClark) and occasional WFMU DJ included several 60s DJs in his programs. Heres a good example:
