It's weird (and I realize that a lot of these are also UK/European tracks) but it seems like the 80s Satanic Panic sort of erased lots of demonic and Satanic stuff from our culture - save some hardcore holdouts (death metal, cosplay Satanists, etc.).
We went to this fantastic Devil themed museum over the weekend - lots of European (etc.) devil themed collectibles, advertising, and various devil, Pan, Mephistopheles themes. It was really fun. If you're ever in my town I heartily recommend it. The owner is a real character, too. A feisty German lady. Her stories about dealings with her neighbors are a hoot.

A lot of the influence was related to the cinema, I think Tony. With the gradual collapse of the 'mainstream' cinema during the second half of the 60s in the UK, lots of big name stars were migrating into horror (still a viable genre) for the paycheck, so Hammer, Tigon et al had something of a purple patch, and all the young bands were seeing it in the cinema.

Though they are an '80s entity, Miranda Sex Garden had a real pagan/Druid vibe with paens to female goddesses both good & evil. But their vocals were so devastatingly haunting. I was sucked in by their music
