It describes a location and the factions that inhabit it so that the game master has a scenario to run for the players. It's all table-top, pencil-and-paper gaming. I'm no good at computer games. I once had a subscription to the Lord of the Rings Online MMORPG because I had a freelance gig writing ad copy for them -- and I kept dying in the training area because I would walk into the campfire and couldn't figure out how to get out of it.

I once had a subscription to the Lord of the Rings Online MMORPG because I had a freelance gig writing ad copy for them -- and I kept dying in the training area because I would walk into the campfire and couldn't figure out how to get out of it.
