This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

i guess what i said that you missed is that those tracks were from a TV series about the explorer Henri de Monfried's travels in the middle east / red sea, the 1st season being 1967 and the 2nd in 1975. Roubaix did lots of soundtrack work, often very adventurous. by the 70s he was working pretty much exclusively from a home studio and experimenting in that mode, often using synthesizers in interesting ways

I’m a long term international film enthusiast (haha -that sounds silly😉) P.Sarde audio is fabu! Not particularly recalling film a soundtrack for César & Rosalie, but would definitely recommend the film & his soundtrack to 1981 French “Coup de Torchon” & others. Also within the same world, worthy of exploration is the stellar composer Michel Portal !

I see “César & Rosalie” stars the stellar actress Romy Schneider. Admittedly I am a beguiled fan. Yet, i’d like to share - a Must viewing (& vastly under-seen) a belated resurrected “docu-film-memoir” of a never completed film by French master filmmaker Henri-Georges Clouzot titled “L’ENFER”/“INFERNO” (1964/2009). Imo, the whole concept is compelling, stunning & innovative.
And of course, Romy Schneider is particularly jaw-dropping in it.

Okay it's not super long... :
' Edward Lodewijk Van Halen (Dutch: [ˈɛdvart ˈloːdəˌʋɛi̯k fɑn ˈɦaːlə(n)], /væn ˈheɪlɛn/ van HAY-len; January 26, 1955 – October 6, 2020) '
Henry Rollins tells of seeing Van Halen on an early tour - & how he'll never forget seeing Eddie play some amazing guitar - & then look @ his own hands like he couldn't himself believe what he'd just done.
One could be cynical - & say that after Hendrix - what could White Rawk Gittarists do but learn a bunch of Non-Blues Scales ? Some Gittarists who shall remain nameless had tried too hard & self-consciously to blend Blues-based Electric Rawk Gittar & Classical - but Eddie Van Halen did it naturally, organically - & musically. Because they *were* both natural to him.
Van Halen's debut album was an incontrovertible GameChanger - not just for Gittar - but for all Hard Rawk. You felt it immediately - like a FlameThrower. Personally - the image & message were a little too FratBoy for me - & I never felt they expanded on the debut - but the power of the Band was visceral.
Eddie communicated that Innovation - the Thrill he got from his own Creativity & Energy - & I will miss it.

no idea if Big Youth had anything to do with the 2 instrumentals that pop up on this LP but they're dynamite stuff. Skin, Flesh & Bones had a lot of crossover w/ The Revolutionaries
