	9:10am Zipperhead7: Good morning troubled modernists. Sinead was a warrior, an inspiration and an artist -- always following her muse and defying the expectations of the audience. Her music conveyed a depth of personal, political and spiritual oppression in ways that few have matched. I remember hearing the wails of protestors echoing through the Senate chamber during the Kavanagh hearings as they were dragged off. Those wails bore witness to millennia of oppression. I heard that in her music, as well as the power of healing. Her loss is devastating. Love to you all . . .

	9:23am Zinn The Mood: Hello Trouble and the Troubled in this Modern World. Very sad about Sinead. Always admired and dug her stuff, though didn’t know it all intimately. Right away with Mandinka and Lay Your Hands on Me it was clear she was a force to be reckoned. Turned out she was a kindred spirit rebel, compelled to speak out against and stand up to injustice. Strikingly beautiful too, courageous for shaving her head. A true artist, in the sense that J Baldwin spoke of, in which one must accept that badge and proceed fearlessly with universal truths that could be uncomfortable for the masses to hear. Have purposefully been avoiding all social media for about a month now. But last night upon hearing the news from my partner went on Twitter to read some of the tributes. Apparently she contributed some articles to Counterpunch; there’s a great shot of a very young Sinead on the cover of an Irish paper called Socialist Worker or something.

At least to whatever extent the tunes happened outside the usual band dynamics.

Just wanted to add that I was in town for the pirate radio cruise last weekend and, among other things, I visited the Interference Archive (I think after learning about it from your show). Spent lots of time in the Cuba and tenants' rights materials, but my favourite piece was the "Tamales for the Revolution" pamphlet I found. Delicious, delicious praxis!

	10:47am Zinn The Mood: The pressures of summer, ugh; loathe it in some ways. Presently getting the kids out on their bikes before this horrendous heatwave peaks. There’s construction trucks right in front, laying asphalt in repaving the roads here. Probably have to duck in for rest of the day and deal with cabin fever in the small Queens apt, or venture out in the car to a library, with thunderstorms on the horizon. Good thing there’s a nice sprinkler park right here. The good side, as ever, is the reading time ahead. Picked up the Justin Kaplan bio on Walt Whitman at the thrift store up the block, and haven’t been able to put it down. Still finishing the excellent, fascinating academic tome on the Haitian Rev. Learned so much about this disappeared momentous event in world history. Enjoy the day, folks, while you can!

	9:23am Zinn The Mood: Hello Trouble and the Troubled in this Modern World. Very sad about Sinead. Always admired and dug her stuff, though didn’t know it all intimately. Right away with Mandinka and Lay Your Hands on Me it was clear she was a force to be reckoned. Turned out she was a kindred spirit rebel, compelled to speak out against and stand up to injustice. Strikingly beautiful too, courageous for shaving her head. A true artist, in the sense that J Baldwin spoke of, in which one must accept that badge and proceed fearlessly with universal truths that could be uncomfortable for the masses to hear. Have purposefully been avoiding all social media for about a month now. But last night upon hearing the news from my partner went on Twitter to read some of the tributes. Apparently she contributed some articles to Counterpunch; there’s a great shot of a very young Sinead on the cover of an Irish paper called Socialist Worker or something.

Just wanted to add that I was in town for the pirate radio cruise last weekend and, among other things, I visited the Interference Archive (I think after learning about it from your show). Spent lots of time in the Cuba and tenants' rights materials, but my favourite piece was the "Tamales for the Revolution" pamphlet I found. Delicious, delicious praxis!

There’s construction trucks right in front, laying asphalt in repaving the roads here. Probably have to duck in for rest of the day and deal with cabin fever in the small Queens apt, or venture out in the car to a library, with thunderstorms on the horizon. Good thing there’s a nice sprinkler park right here. The good side, as ever, is the reading time ahead. Picked up the Justin Kaplan bio on Walt Whitman at the thrift store up the block, and haven’t been able to put it down. Still finishing the excellent, fascinating academic tome on the Haitian Rev. Learned so much about this disappeared momentous event in world history. Enjoy the day, folks, while you can!
