I watched the Peter Case doc “A Million Miles Away” on Prime last night which I highly recommend. Towards the end, there’s a scene with Lady Blackbird singing in a studio. I mention this because Bob turned me (us) on to her, and it blew my mind that she appeared in a doc about Peter Case. Just goes to show that ALL good things are connected!

Hey, BOB, and all the Brainiacs! Here's a heartwarming story. Billy Joel distributed a petition requesting Joe Cocker be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the Brit star was dying of cancer. The kind folks at the Hall refused to acknowledge all the signatories and Joe is STILL, to this day, not a member!

It was SNL in 1976: "Because I know that a single glass of delicious, ice cold milk in the summer can give you a quick heart attack if you drink it too fast." The musical guest was Kinky Friedman. Can you imagine?

"Many archivists have heard the heavily fortified newscast by KYA reporter Lamar Sherlock, in which he struggles, unsuccessfully, to inform on the events of the day (a turbulent integration march, an assassination in the Congo, local happenings). What would you have expected from a newsman who often rode his motor scooter, driving with one arm and a head full of spirits, up the city’s steep grades to KYA’s Nob Hill studios?"
