Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

Being folded like that made them prone to tearing along those creases. It weakens them when they are folded and if you pull it out and it gets caught on the inner sleeve it tears it right along that crease.

i had the "white album" that my sister got for xmas in 1968. when i evaluated it last year the poster had tape, tape residue, thumb tack holes, tears. it was separated at the seams into at least 4 pieces, at least 3 6X12 sections missing. the photos had holes, tears, tape; Paul had been given a tattoo and a mustache, George had pin holes in his pupils. the cover was written on a lot and almost was in 2 pieces. the record was loud with surface noise and had i think 4 skips.
i sold it for 10 bucks + shipping to a guy who has a white album museum in nyc.

i know i listened to it once in the 80s and never again, and it's the last jethro tull title i bought. i didn't love 4 of the last 5 before that either.
so i read some reviews on discogs that raved about stormwatch AND heavy horses, both of which i've consided the end for 'tull.
i'm excited to listen to it again, maybe i'll change my mind at least to say it's "good", if not excellent.

So what's everyone doing for the holiday weekend?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
coelacanth∅:

this is my discogs description for the white album.
it sold within a week or so; he only buys the original, individually numbered run
(mine was a 6-digit). and i was mistaken he paid $9 for it, but bought 2 other $1 albums to reach my minimum of $11 (which he asked me to waive and i refused when he told me it's for a white album museum! he's a spoiled brat and has infinitely more money than me!)

"VERY CRACKLY! - still i listened to & enjoyed this. 5-6 skips total; 1 repeater just into rev.1. NOISY. Cover's a mess. spine falling apart; top & bottom seams have masking tape, now gone brittle. Incl. the cover, 4 photos, what's left of the poster (in pieces), & manyX-tagged record labels- we have tears, tape residue, red, green & black pen, pencil, black marker, india ink, pin holes, multi-coloured stamp, initials scratched into labels...it's comical! heavily wounded in Love. I don't have my white album in front me, but my father bought it morgantown, wv in 1968. It's in rather good condition except for the lime-scented marker I used to trace the embossed "Beatles" when I was five (I got the scented markers for my bday). My father freaked out when he saw me doing it. He has no memory of how the letters became green today, but I sure as hell still remember....

true. i knew it would sell, too -although not knowing about the museum i figured i'd end up lowering the price to 4-5 bucks.
in an interview he said he doesn't listen to any other music besides the white album; so it makes me sad that he was so selfish to buy 2 lps (Roberta Flack's 1st album & Sonny & Cher "look at us") just to toss them in the trash, rather than ask me to raise the price of the white album to $11 to meet my minimum.
