Oh, my! I was crunching some granola and missed it.

I see that Jack Teagarden had a title called Let's Go Native.

Had a shock earlier when I heard Howl on the station, having spent most of the week working with recordings of the very same
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm

↳ fred @12:12
Ah, I see. I went to a Howl festival in NYC years ago. Great show in Tompkin's Square Park. Judith Malina was still around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Krys O.:

I recently watched Dog Day Afternoon and was enraptured seeing Judith as Pacino's mother.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Krys O.:

Confessin' (That I Love You) is the title. Everybody did it from Vallee to Lombardo to Lionel Hampton.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm

I have my Pop Memories book on hand. It's fascinating looking this up.

Hi Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Krys O.:

Going to venture a guess that the last song is Betty Co-Ed. It was a hit in 1930.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I just heard it was 'Betty' too. Thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Krys O.:

The melody sounds collegiate too.

↳ Song: "Cliff Edwards Show 1944" by "Cliff Edwards"
There were silences in between the songs of over 5 seconds on the original track. Maybe to have live announcing on the stations?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
fred:

@Krys: I often use Howl at work. It all started with a bug report from someone using my employer's software to disguise the voice of witnesses (both victims and perps) at the Rwanda genocide trials. I got the 1956 and 1992 recordings of Ginsberg readings from UbuWeb to have "real" recordings (meaning not recorded by trained actors in a studio) to have something to debug the issue. It worked, and I've been using these ever since
Probably not what he had in mind, but I don't think he'd have minded that much

Hello, Mr. Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm
Jan Turkenburg:

↳ Krys O. @12:35
There were a lot of additions in parentheses in the title those days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
Jan Turkenburg:

(in parentheses, is that the right way of saying it?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Krys O.:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @12:37
To distinguish titles from similarly named tunes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I thought it was 'in between brackets' but checked with google translate...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Krys O.:

Yes, parentheses is plural. Parenthesis is singular.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Krys O.:

My cat Harvey is snoring loudly in the chair next to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Jan Turkenburg:

But 'between brackets' is correct too?

Walter Damrosch - Music Appreciation Hour: I have a big collection of Dutch radio shows and records like this: adults explaining classical instruments and composers to kids. Not too interesting for Sheena's, at least I think...
