This may be my fave Carole King song (after Pleasant Valley Sunday)
  🥁 3:44pm
WLSClark:

↳ Song: "Don't Bring Me Down" by "Animals"
If you saw the Carole King play that toured, I found it cool how they decided they needed to get into the Brit market and did so SUCCESSFULLY with this one!

i had the pleasure of an unusually conscious ~25-year-old renting my other bedroom a few years ago. one day he said he'd bought a Carole King album because he'd been made aware of a great significance. unfortunately not tapestry and he said he doesn't get it at all...which i can easily understand, depending on what album he got.
i told him about all the music she'd written but he'd never heard of the ones i named.
oh well.
i have complete confidence he'll appreciate her one day though.

Is that true? I always assumed that Ed, being Randy Wolfe's step-dad and a jazz drummer, and a guy already on the west-coast scene (and already half way to rock in The Rising Sons), mentored the kid and that they were kinda the family that played together and stayed together. Honest question, because I don't know.
