Given the choice of the slow horse, the '84 Dodge Colt or the '83 Cutlass -- I know which I would take

Staten Island. The Van Nuys of NYC (?).

Hey Sam! Slowest horse I ever rode was an ancient VW Beetle. You had to use all the body language at your disposal to get it to merge onto an expressway
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm

Friendly gestures only, I hope, Zip!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm

Mostly just shrugs. The gestures I received definitely were not friendly . . . not to mention anatomically impossible

...and i'm back, and got two guys to write a resume at the shelter. while there, of course some cabronito had to cause a stir, lending my limited translation skills to kick him out. Now, i should work on my stuff again...(i knew I would get roped into something else, I had to run while I still could).

a friend in high school worked on vws and always got reasonable pickup even from the 1960s ones (without engine modifications)

by far the slowest horse i ever drove was a f.o.r.d. mustang II.
and i almost gave up trying to get up a moderate hill with one passenger and light camping equipment. flooring it the whole way and it got down to just over 10mph.
our friends were miles ahead of us and who knows when or if they'd turn around to try to find us. (no way to reach them; pre self-surveillance days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm

The other cool thing was saying Hi to a ton of gentlemen who were hosting normal Freemasonry stuff in the rest of the temple, who were going home for the night. All suited up -- most of them were day workers, laborers, shopkeepers, etc whom I know from the block. Reminded me why blue collar men like my Grandfather joined fraternal societies--a reason to suit up, do some social good, and be more than just a number/beast of burden to a company....
