Discotech U. I know one exception, though it's a non-commerical college station. WFDU at Fairleigh Dickinson Univ. in Teaneck, NJ. Oldies shows, including doo wop.

re: Surrealistic Pillow
When I was a young'un, I would often buy whatever I could find in adequate shape in the used/cheapo bin. I owned a stereo copy of this LP for decades and just assumed that's what blew everyone's minds. I didn't hear the mono mix until the 21st century -- that mix is so superior and is probably the one that most of the freaks were blasting in '67.

The Volunteers album was released while I was studying Vietnamese at the Defense Language Institute at Ft. Bliss, TX, in El Paso in late '69-early '70. The local radio station, KINT-FM, played the "up against the wall, mother fucker" line from "We Can Be Together" without any censorship or editing. Didn't lose their FCC license, as far as I know.
