When I lived in Albany (for most of the eighties), there were very few reasons to go to Troy. There were two reasons I remember: Water Street Music Hall for concerts (saw Billy Bragg there), and a great bar that had every beer in the world (it was the only place that had Thomas Hardy). There are more reasons to go to Troy now, including a great record store.

Richard T is great. He's one of those people who make it seem easy. Like, you hear what he's playing, and it sounds weird and complicated, but you watch his fingers and the effort he's exerting, and he makes it look easy. ...' It's not said much - but there's no Metal or Hard Rawk as we know it without The Beatles pushing the Amplification & the Volume with an amphetamine Drive - pointing the course for the engine of Rawk without the Roll - before The Who or even The Kinks - there is no expansion of the arsenal without the need to be heard by an audience of this size & its mass hormonal hysteria. [OK - hyperbole...]
Listen to 'Hold Me Tight' - a song often derided as a lesser composition - & a track maybe never credited for its reductive sexual assertion & distorted electric guitars overdriven beyond engineered specifications (about two years before such a sound is usually thot to even begin being recorded by anyone as standard) & drum kit metal creaking under the always underrated Ringo's brute force. Not every Beatle track is as brilliant as every other.
However - there's none I don't find something to like - even be fascinated by ...even delight in. If not as Songs &/or Lyrics - then as Performances (Playing - or VOCALS) - or Arrangements (including often Instrumentation) - or, as Recordings. TheBeatles were great & innovative Recording Artists.
