As JesseJarnow observed - they became ThuhDead by *showing up* - so there's an awful lot of Dead. What's required is a guide thru that to the good bits...
Another thing I consider is they gestated in the Acid Tests - not some Club like every other band in the Universe. Their approach to the Muse & even Professionalism was ...coy & circuitous. One didn't want to scare the Vibe away by being too ambitious or aggressive in that SF kinda ethic ...quite its own thing. We don't all have time for that...
Then there's the matter of dealing with Deadheads themselves. Too often a pain in the backside - but sometimes intelligent electric very kewl persons.
