This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

@SoP: it only lasted 5 mins, incredibly. Didn't know that many tears could come out of just one eye. Now, just a delicious dull pain. I'm used to it w/ chili peppers, but haven't gotten this hot sauce in my eye (for the first 10 secs, it was, "what just happened?")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm

As effective as a quick kick to the yarbles. It was a deadly chili, btw. Face-melting

Avatar 7:44pm
northguineahills:

↳ StringOFperils @7:40
this was dave's insanity carolina reaper, more heat then flavor. I usually add it to a hot sauce w/ flavor to add more heat. Seeing as I was wearing glasses, I must have really wanted it to find my eye.

Ah, I see. I like ultra-hot sauces that deliver flavor, too. The old Fatback's 808, for instance.

I once ordered "as hot as you can make it" in an Indian restaurant with the typical 1-10 scale. They served and reported, "This is 11." It was.

Yet I do not like hot for hot's sake. I like impressively spicy food with the juice to back it up.

Even if you catch lightning in a bottle - the same lightning ?
Have thot it makes a perfect parallel to U.S. GarageRawk - but into the 1970s - you're bridging the chronological gap into the Punk Movement.
It's just really interesting - a scene that transcends Market in being more than the cash grab - tho I'm sure they wanted to sell records where they were ...but not the same as in the U.S. ...That is - like Blues & Garage - it's a real regional expression of actual humans...

A lot of people (including me) want to transcend the constraints of everyday reality, by way of art, and garage-punk sentiment is perennial I think: there's a lot to complain about. But the best of it always seems to cast off its moorings to any kind of marketplace as it mutates, gloriously

...sometimes I just reflect on
...mass communication is remarkable enuff
...but that we have Reproducible - & Transmissible Art
... to a Standard of such Fidelity
- that someone can Record - & get it to Everybody uniformly & reliably - & know it will get to us so richly & clearly ...it's kind of unbelievable.
Yerknow - that TheBeatles coming along & selling that much stuff changed everything...

It's weird. It's a better technology with respect to sound repro, but it's so cantankerous to deal with

Well, I'm still going to mutate my turntable, and get on with it. I even bought a respectable prssing of Workngmans Dead off Discogs recently in anticipation. Dan Hicks Original Recordings too, actually. Bad vinyl junkie.

So much being Streamed & Podcast. FMU alone conflicts with itself with different streams & archives.
I think of Dylan having to steal people's WoodyGuthrie LPs to have them @ all - & GeorgeHarrison saying after the War in England you couldn't get a cup of sugar much less a Rawk Record ...or Donavan saying one learned Blues off 78s...
& I'm this schmuck with a gushing firehose of content I struggle to moderate & direct for myself...

it would be lovely to have to savor morsels like that, it's a real and fine skill to be on the receiving end of the firehose and still find the sublime moments
