	🥁 3:44pm David Shortell: After signing with Columbia, Big Brother and the Holding Company knew something fishy was going on when they saw the Monterey Pop film. Why was the camera focused on Janis so much? Plans were early in the making to jettison the band, but keep the singer.

	3:53pm StringOFperils: I met Zalman there. My ex-girlfriend had married a fellow I knew and moved to Kingston and, being a foodie, got herself a job working at Chez Piggy. I was distressed to be in her company AND too starstruck to say anything but, "Hi Zalman, Nice to meet you."

	3:53pm TDK60: I read an interesting book that shows how much more politically radical and active the music and arts community was back then. Tends to get erased in various ways.

	🥁 4:01pm David Shortell: I believe it was at Monterey that Micky Dolenz (famous for starring in “Circus Boy”) purchased the Moog that he used in “Daily Nightly”.
	4:01pm Mike Sin: I know a lot of times it's the "newness" that creates a stronger effect, but... years after the actual movie, it was downright amazing to see the Quicksilver Messenger Service, Association, and Electric Flag clips, which were initially cut.

	4:04pm Funky16Corners: There isn't a whole extended version in one piece. The box set has a lot of unreleased performances that were cut out of the movie
