Sometimes I have a vinyl warmup hour before the show, today as well. Meaning all vinyl, and artists played here. Today's playlist: "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking" by Roger Waters, "Drums and Wires" by XTC and "Autobahn" & "Computer World" by Kraftwerk. I just noticed Roger Waters as a solo artist has not been played here, but I'll allow myself this mishap, c'mooon, Pink Floyd and all. Plus the album in question does borrow a couple of musical motifs from "The Wall", I'm not sure though was it written before it? I think there was a choice between "Animals" and "Pros & Cons" demos back in the day when PF were preparing a new album and "Animals" won fortunately.

HAndy, I am unaware of what has happened in detail, but my condolences, I guess maybe I can try and imagine what you folks are going through as not a day goes by without me thinking about certain feline friend of mine who passed 13 years ago or my partner's senior cats/rabbits who died between 2016-2020. Knowing from the get go there might not be that many days left does make it any easier to bear, let alone witnessing a rapidly progressing cancer which was the case with that special furry friend I lost the day before NYE 2009. So once again(please excuse my rambling), my condolences

Handy Haversack:

Cha Cha -- we saw them twice in five days! It was fantastic. I had not seen them in about twenty years, and obviously before Mary had died. But they sounded so good. And really let it fly -- playing old faves but also just getting weird and following the sounds. The first show was about 70 miles north of the city in an old factory that now has events and arts in it, and even though the capacity was allegedly around 1200, it felt smaller, more intimate. K8 and I were maybe 3-4 meters from the stage. Fantastic show. 1:45 of solid playing and then *two* encores. They were feeling it.

The Brooklyn show was great too, but at one of the worst venues around, and bigger, and just more full of Brooklyn. Less intimate? More hip and corporate. The band was fantastic again, though a shorter set and only one encore. Very glad we caught them in Hudson as well. Job well done on giving myself a bday present, I thought. And who needs to hang on to money? Much better to have seen a show.
