I declare Ruth White the female Raymond Scott, if that's a fair assessment. She seems to have had the same sense of innovation that Scott had later in his career. Perhaps Scott's work around that time was an influence for her.

I just went to a house concert in Berkeley featuring Battle Trance. Four tenor saxophones, quite loud, intense, almost an hour without break. Stunning performance. And scary, too!

Flanging or Phase Shift is one of the Doubling effects. Like if you had two tapes of the same thing you played @ once - but screwed with the speed of one of them slightly - you get that wave of sort of soaring jet sound. End of Crimson & Clover or Axis: Bold as Love for examples...

I bought an instruction book on practicing New Age Magick at a bookstore in Lyndhurst that specialized in such tomes concerning the Pagan arts.
