	🐛 9:48am WR: Once, many many years ago, I hitched hiked some distances. Berkeley CA to Dallas Tx, Dallas to Boulder Colorado and back, Dallas to Houston Tx and back. A few scary experiences but one that was unexpectedly weird was in Kansas on the way to Denver. Somehow ended up on a two lane highway with some grain crop growing and the grain was taller than I was. Both sides of the highway. No fence and only a few feet from the edge of the highway to the crop. Very claustrophobic and almost no traffic. Lucky, at least, it was during the day. I remember finally, near dark, a young person picked me up and said they would get me closer to the interstate where I would have a better chance of getting a ride.
