The black keys and the white keys have really complicated relationships with each other, but they're all equally important to making sweet music that is greater than them. And all it does it bring happiness. No one gets hurt.

During the 60s, ska bands covered a lot of Top 40 hits under fictitious titles, prob to sidestep paying royalties. I recall a cover of the Beatles’ “Happy Just to Dance with You,” released under the title (if I remember right) “Happy Anniversary Day.”

To me this is good stuff. I thought there'd be no way my friend Don would object to it. However, he just asked me, "Is that the program that plays the worst they can find?" ("The World's Worst Records Radio Show") I ask him, "You think it's that bad?" He says yes. Go figure.

StringOFperils:

Good and bad, in the end, are personal responses. And they're often mixed, even then. I have terrible records (by imagined consensus) that I love, and great records that are also preposterous, whether by musical excess or by the ridiculous personality cult driving them....most of World's Worst Records is truly bad, but within the context of WWR, those recordings are untouchable in a good way. When listeners and collectors get together, things can get proscriptive. When you get sucked into that, it's about fashion, and social-positioning, and authority where there really is none.

Speaking of films, I’m glad I decided to watch Wicker Man after last week’s show. I really enjoyed it. Gotta say, Christopher Lee’s hair was a show in itself. I found myself wondering what it was going to do next; not something you’d want too near the Wicker Man. The best was his Cher hair! So cool to see Christopher Lee in a fun role like this!
