	5:11pm desert fox: Agreed…5 hours minimum from now on! There are always a few 10min tracks that gather dust unless I feel like I have time to stretch my DJ legs, and then you can let them fly.
	🥁 5:14pm Discotech Underground: 5-6 hour shifts were standard when I was in commercial radio, but it was all formatted and you played the same "hits" over and over day after day. It wasn't free form like the good old days of Underground FM in the late 60's and 70's.

	5:18pm coelacanth∅: fmu used to have a standard 4-hour shift. i did not like the change, for the most part. i'm fine with it now; but i do think a few show hosts lost some of their vibe, even with 3 hours.
	5:19pm KimSorise: During the week any more than 3 would be tough for me - but with 2, I feel like I am just getting started and it's over. But I still love it!
	5:19pm coelacanth∅: and, maybe there were 6-hour overnight shifts? but then other nights wfmu would shut down at either midnight or 2am.
	5:21pm KimSorise: I cut my teeth playing 11 to 5am over night shifts
	5:23pm coelacanth∅: it's true, your show seems incomplete sometimes -i think especially when there are so many good sprawling tracks to get to! (but of course it doesn't help that i rarely get there on time)
	🥁 5:23pm Discotech Underground: I hear you, Kim...my normal show is two hours, like yours, and I try to fit in as much as I can but still feel like I could go another hour, easy!

I played the same records over and over with diminishing satisfaction. Now I leave the driving to you guys! Four hour sets are the stuff of dreams, but I'll take it anyway you throw it.

Today from the library I got 4 books. 2 by recent Mark Hurst guest James Bridle, a bio of Peter Ivers, and a bio of Walter Rodney (an Afro-Caribbean revolutionary of the 70s (assassinated in 1979)). I'm a longtime fan of Peter Ivers, from his earliest recordings, but I never saw any of the New Wave Theatre tv shows.

	🥁 5:14pm Discotech Underground: 5-6 hour shifts were standard when I was in commercial radio, but it was all formatted and you played the same "hits" over and over day after day. It wasn't free form like the good old days of Underground FM in the late 60's and 70's.

	5:18pm coelacanth∅: fmu used to have a standard 4-hour shift. i did not like the change, for the most part. i'm fine with it now; but i do think a few show hosts lost some of their vibe, even with 3 hours.
	5:19pm KimSorise: During the week any more than 3 would be tough for me - but with 2, I feel like I am just getting started and it's over. But I still love it!
	5:19pm coelacanth∅: and, maybe there were 6-hour overnight shifts? but then other nights wfmu would shut down at either midnight or 2am.

I'm a longtime fan of Peter Ivers, from his earliest recordings, but I never saw any of the New Wave Theatre tv shows.
